Good Samaritans and Fire Crews Reunite with Patients
On Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 4:30 p.m. the Murrieta Fire Department will be hosting a press conference at Station 2. The purpose is to present members of the community with American Heart Life Saver Awards.
Three citizens who witnessed a man collapse, rendered life saving CPR that helped resuscitate him when his heart stopped. After fire crews arrived to continue care, the patient was transported to the hospital and later returned home for rehabilitation.
Eight days later, fire crews responded to yet another person who collapsed and initiated CPR along with advanced medical support which also resulted in that patient being resuscitated and released home.
Without early CPR intervention on both patients, their outcomes would have been much different. Due to the quick, decisive, and organized assistance that three members of the community gave, along with a rapid response with advanced medical personnel and equipment, two members of our community are alive today.
Please join us to acknowledge the three individuals who acted heroically as they are presented with much deserved gratitude and are reunited with the people they helped. Murrieta Fire Department crews that were present on both emergencies will also be there to reunite with the patients.
