On February 24, 2016 at approximately 0805 hours, members of the Murrieta Police Department Special Enforcement Team and the Murrieta-Temecula Gang Task Force served a search warrant on the 37000 block of Spur Drive related to a marijuana cultivation investigation.
During the warrant service, detectives contacted Jeremy Hang at the location in question and recovered over 400 marijuana plants in various stages of growth. Detectives also observed improvised wiring that bypassed the electrical meter. This modification affords the grower the opportunity to use the tremendous amount of electrical power required to support a sophisticated internal growing process without paying the true cost of the used electricity.
Hang was arrested for marijuana cultivation, marijuana sales and theft of utilities and later booked into the Southwest Detention Center.
