On 09-27-12 at the Murrieta Super Target located at 27818 Clinton Keith Road Murrieta a robbery occurred where a suspect punched a store clerk and got away with two IPads.
At about 9:10 pm on 09-27-2012 a electronics store clerk helped a white male adult who said he wanted to purchase an Apple I-Pad. The clerk unlocked the secured/locked I-Pad display case and showed the male one of the tablets. The suspect used his body to push his way past the clerk and grabbed the tablet he held. A struggle ensued over the tablet and the suspect punched the clerk in the face which caused the I-Pad tablet to fall to the floor. The suspect grabbed the I-pad from the floor and an additional tablet from the display case and ran from the electronics section of the store. The suspect ran past a loss prevention officer, store cashier stands, and out of the south entry doors, without paying for the items. Total value of the two Apple I-Pads was $1,198 ($599 a piece)
On 10-02-11, Murrieta PD Detectives released a crime information flyer regarding the Super Target Robbery. It was disseminated to local law enforcement agencies and the press.
On 10-12-12, based on the crime flyer information, Murrieta Detectives were able to positively identify the suspect as 27 year old Murrieta resident Joshua Danielson. At 4:58 pm Danielson was physically located near his residence and arrested without incident.
Danielson was transported and booked at the Southwest Detention Center for 459 PC Commercial Burglary and 211 PC Robbery (Strong Armed) without incident.
