|Contact :||Sergeant Jay Froboese 951-461-6302|
At 9:40 pm on October 9, 2012 officers stopped a van for speeding northbound on Washington in front of Murrieta Valley High School. The driver and passenger in the van appeared extremely nervous and agitated. A check on their licenses and criminal history revealed the driver Kyle Turpin was on probation for drug charges. Both Turpin and his passenger Kimberley Holguin appeared to be under the influence of drugs. Turpin was also out on bail for a recent felony arrest. Both were arrested for being under the influence. Officers conducted a vehicle search finding traces of methaphetamine, scales, and paraphernalia in the van. Police Service Dog "Kazan" was requested at the scene for a drug search of the vehicle. Kazan found nothing more in the interior of the van, but during the exterior search located 8 grams of methaphetamine in a magnetic metal container attached to the frame rails under the van. The meth was packaged for sales. Both Holguin and Turpin were booked at Southwest Detention Center on multiple drug felony counts.
